In
New Jersey, the term "redevelopment" generally refers
to the legal process designating blighted or otherwise distressed
property as an "area in need of redevelopment." The
process is governed by the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law,
N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-1
et seq., but the process is affected and influenced
by a changing web of interconnecting statutes, regulations, policies
and judicial decisions.
